The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries announced that its chief economist and director of commodities, Joe Pickard, was selected to serve on the Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Building Materials, Construction and Nonferrous Metals (ITAC-9), part of the U.S. Department of Commerce. He will represent the U.S. scrap recycling industry. For more, click here.


Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Schupan & Sons, Inc. has promoted Bryan Huggett to director of maintenance coordination for all Schupan & Sons companies and Troy Lincomfelt to director of Michigan operations for Schupan Recycling. The family-owned business specializes in industrial and electronics recycling, metal and plastics fabrication and beverage container processing.

11 | Request for proposals


The Maine Department of Environmental Protection is currently accepting applications for approval to participate as a consolidator in Maine's extended producer responsibility program for e-scrap in 2016. The application form is now available through the DEP's website (under "Forms"). Completed applications must be submitted to Maine DEP no later than Oct. 1, 2015.
