The Association of Postconsumer Plastic Recyclers held its largest-ever membership meeting last week in Dallas, with over 200 members in attendance. Association members took the opportunity to discuss a number of issues.

2 | Plastics Recycling 2016: Set for New Orleans


Despite winter weather causing travel headaches, more than 1,500 industry leaders convened in Dallas last week for the 10th annual Plastics Recycling Conference. Next year's conference, Plastics Recycling 2016, will be held Feb. 1-3 in New Orleans, a city as vibrant as it is snowless.


The Dallas conference was marked by a packed trade show and heated panel discussions and presentations on the industry's leading issues and topics. It was also supported by numerous ancillary events and meetings held by the industry's leading trade groups. More of the same will be on tap in the Big Easy.


Plastics Recycling 2016 is slated for Feb. 1-3 at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans. Sponsor and exhibitor opportunities will become available in spring 2015. Check in at plasticsrecycling.com for updates and more.

7 | PetroChem Wire: Recycled PS prices mixed


HIPS white regrind sold at 55 cents per pound delivered Midwest (53 cents per pound FOB) at the end of February, steady from a week earlier. HIPS mixed-color flake sold at 50 cents per pound delivered Midwest (48 cents per pound FOB) at the end of the month, a penny higher than the previous week.

Phoenix Technologies International has introduced a resin grade designed to withstand bulk handling and transportation while still providing the color and low acetaldehyde attributes found in the original compacted formulation, the company announced. The new "LNO c" melt-formed pellet provides an option for larger-volume users that have been looking at using recycled PET to produce containers. For more, click here.
