Backed by some of the biggest companies and organizations in waste management and recycling, the Recycling Innovators Forum is a competition to find the next great idea to advance recycling. The top 7-10 nominees will be asked to present their idea to an audience of 150 recycling professionals at the Recycling Innovators Forum on August 26 in Louisville, Kentucky. The winner will receive $20,000, a chance to pitch their idea to venture capitalists and an article covering their idea in Resource Recycling magazine.

3 | Pennsylvania prepares for stewardship law


Pennsylvania is preparing for its e-scrap stewardship law to go into full effect. Manufacturers were required to register with the state and set up e-scrap collection and recycling programs in 2012, but the requirement residents actually dispose of unwanted electronics responsibly does not go into effect until Jan. 23.
