2 | E-Scrap 2011: Global Perspectives

The E-Scrap Conference is the undisputed North American meeting place for the global electronics recycling industry. You dont want to miss these experts who are travelling from abroad to share their compelling insights and keen perspectives on global e-scrap issues.

Lakshmi Raghupathy, of the Manufacturers' Association for Information Technology, offers an extensive review of India's current e-scrap situation, including in- and out-flows, who's processing what and how, and brand new e-waste management rules. Lakshmi will also offer recommendations and predictions based on her current research, including an assessment of the unique relationship between formal and informal processors in India.

Widely-respected independent journalist Adam Minter will share his experiences visiting numerous processing facilities in China. He will explore the current regulatory framework for electronics recycling in China, both in terms of import issues as well as environmental operations.

Senior consultant for UNIDO, Valentin Ishchenko, will take a critical look at the changes in Russia's relationship with electronics as the population enjoys growing prosperity. He will address Russia's future with e-scrap, based on the work he and Vladimir Mariev have done with the UNIDO/Russia project, a program which seeks to analyze the current electronics recycling situation in Russia, to identify economical and environmentally safe solutions for reducing untreated/non-recyclable e-waste and to promote the best methods for the collection and recycling.

This year's E-Scrap Conference will be held October 5-6 at the Omni Championsgate near Orlando, Florida. For more information, visit www.e-scrapconference.com, or click the banner below.
