The Carolina Recycling Association has launched an updated website. The redesign brings an updated and modern look to the recycling group's online presence and also integrates user-friendly navigation, mobile compatibility and updated information about the CRA and its upcoming events. The website 1800Recycling.com, which aims to enhance the consumer recycling experience, has announced a new partnership with Call2Recycle, Inc., North America's largest consumer battery stewardship program. As part of the partnership, Call2Recycle and the 1800Recycling team will work to bolster the current battery recycling portion of the 1800Recycling system, including the integration of Call2Recycle's U.S. public battery collection network into 1800Recycling's current database. Nonprofit group Keep America Beautiful has announced the launch of the fourth Recycle Bowl youth recycling competition. The competition encourages elementary, middle and high schools to compete to divert material from landfill, and it runs from Oct. 20 through Nov. 15, culminating on America Recycles Day. Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) will be requesting proposals for recycling processing services to start April 1, 2016. The RFP will pertain to processing 85,000 tons per year of recyclables collected from Seattle apartments, residents and small businesses. A pre-release draft RFP is available here.
