Recycling gets its own stamp
Recycling gets its own stampThe U.S. Postal Service today announced a new line of stamps exhorting customers to "go green" and put the proverbial stamp on sustainability. The USPS today issued a series of 16 stamps, each suggesting small environmentally-friendly actions — including recycling and reusing shopping bags — in a ceremony which included a three-wheeled electric mail delivery vehicle dropping off indigenous trees "symbolic of USPS delivering a greener America," according to a press release announcing the stamps. "With these Go Green stamps, the Postal Service is reminding us of the important steps we can take each day to have an impact on the world around us," said U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa P. Jackson. "These stamps demonstrate individual actions — from saving energy or water to reducing waste — that add up to a big difference for our health and our environment."
