Coca-Cola has launched its new PlantBottle in the U.K., which is includes 22.5 percent plant material and 25 percent recycled plastic, and hopes to have 5 billion of the containers in circulation in 20 countries. By 2020, the beverage giant hopes to incorporate plant material into every bottle it makes.

For those who've put off the tedious task for ripping your CD collection to a digital player and had an even harder time recycling the plastic cases, there's a service for you. As profiled in The New York Times, a Madison, Wisconsin-based company called Murfie will put all CDs on an online player for you and recycle the cases.

AT&T plans to begin packaging its accessories in plastic made from 30 percent plant-based materials that are sourced from ethanol produced from sugarcane.
