PetroChem Wire: Recycled PET holds steady in March

By Editorial Staff, Resource Recycling

Following several months of decline, recycled PET pricing held steady at the end of the first quarter.

FDA pellet grades were around 88-90 cents per pound for clear material and in the low 80s for green material in March. Regrind rPET for strapping or staple fiber was in the upper 50s cents per pound for colored product. Regrind rPET used for non-food sheeting or filament fiber ranged from the low 60s to over 70 cents per pound, with the high end representing clear material. Highest quality clear rPET regrind used for food packaging was priced in the low to mid-70s cents per pound in March.
