PetroChem Wire: Recycled PET pellet pricing up in April

Prices for recycled PET pellets meeting FDA food-contact specifications saw per-pound increases of as much as 3 cents in April.

The upward move put clear FDA material at 91-93 cents per pound, and green FDA material at 83-85 cents per pound. Pricing for rPET flake product was steady from March to April. Regrind PET for strapping and staple fiber markets remained in the upper 50s cents per pound. Regrind PET for the filament fiber market held in the mid 60s cents per pound for green material and the low 70s cents per pound for clear material.
