PetroChem Wire logoRecycled LDPE and LLDPE film-grade pellet prices were down 3 cents per pound last week as supply outpaced demand during the summertime production lull at plants that use this grade in their mixes.

Offers fell to 29 to 30 cents per pound for LDPE and 30 to 31 cents per pound for LLDPE FOB U.S. East Coast. That’s 5 cents per pound below prices seen at the end of July and about 7 cents under late-June levels.

In the prime market, LLDPE butene film export selling prices were heard netting back to 54 to 56 cents per pound FOB Houston late last week. LDPE film was offered at 63 cents per pound FAS Houston and 65 cents per pound DAP Laredo, with no confirmed buying interest.
