Lawmakers in Connecticut have scrapped a proposal that would have charged consumers a five-cent fee for the use of plastic bags.

Heinz has announced plans to convert all of its 20-ounce ketchup bottles to Coca-Cola's new Plant Bottle brand packaging this summer. Approximately 30 percent of PET used in the Plant Bottle is derived from natural sugars.

Hilex Poly has rolled out a new website to promote their alternative to a bag ban in Oregon. The new site touts plastic bags' recyclability and the jobs associated with producing, distributing and recycling them.

MBA Polymers has announced the completion of $15 million of additional equity funding, increasing its most recent financing total to $40 million. The funding comes from Italian asset management firm Ambienta SGR.
