Preserve awards "Local Heroes"
Preserve awards "Local Heroes"By Jake Thomas Preserve, a company that makes household goods from recycled materials and runs a collection program for polypropylene, has announced its "Local Heroes" of recycling. The contest is meant to recognize individuals who've shown a strong commitment to increasing recycling in their communities. The ultimate local hero was Gayle Gordon of Waltham, Massachusetts who has volunteered extensively to establish a recycling curriculum in local schools. She also started a collection program at Brandeis University, where she works as an administrator. As a reward, she'll be sent to the Opportunity Green conference in November to learn about new approaches to sustainability. For a list of the other winners, visit Preserve's website [1]. |
