The Society of the Plastics Industry is forming a business-to-business recycling work group to provide plastic makers with ways to reduce waste. It currently has six member companies interested in the project, and it's seeking additional input. For more, visit the SPI's website [1].

TrimaBond LLC has filed Patent Application No. 20110212317 [2] for a method of recycling plastics from shredded automotive scrap.

CalRecycle has rescheduled a public workshop to discuss proposed modifications to the rigid plastic packaging container regulations. The workshop is now scheduled for October 5 at the California Environmental Protection Agency building in Sacramento, although the second 45-day comment period will still conclude on the original date of the meeting, September 15.

Texas A&M University will place a PepsiCo Dream Machine recycling kiosk at its Mays Business School that will allow students, faculty and visitors to earn rewards by recycling their empty bottles and cans.
