Global refurbishment showcase from iFixit
Global refurbishment showcase from iFixitBy Henry Leineweber, Resource Recycling Consumer electronics repair and refurbishment directory iFixit has launched iFixit.org [1], a site devoted to profiling electronics repair and refurbishment shops around the world. Famous for its comprehensive online directory of common consumer electronics replacement parts, how-to guides and expertly photographed product teardowns, iFixit believes the new site will showcase those around the world dedicated not just to electronics repair, but the maintenance and refurbishment of all machines. The co-founder of iFixit, Kyle Wiens, is planning a documentary film on electronics repair technicians in the developing world, including refurbishers aiding the Egyptian revolution, repair shops in Ghana and circuit board component reclaimers in India, with more content on its way. |
