It's official: Dell is no longer a PC company. Speaking at an event in San Francisco, the company's head, Michael Dell, described Dell as "not really a PC company" noting that it was turning toward away from the shrinking personal computer market and toward business services, similar to the path Hewlett-Packard took in recent years, reports Reuters .
Sustainable Waste Solutions, a sustainability oriented waste and recycling company based in southeastern Pennsylvania, has announced that it will begin offering composting and electronics recycling services. The company's expansion to electronics recycling was undertaken partially in response to the state's e-scrap law that is about to go into effect.
Tampa, Florida-based Creative Recycling Systems has entered into a joint venture partnership to form GreenRock Rare Earth Recovery Corporation. The new company will focus on separating and recovering rare earth metals from consumer electronics.
In other news from Creative Recycling Systems, the company has been selected as a NASCAR Green Partner . As part of the arrangement, CRS will be able to do outreach with NASCAR fans about electronics recycling.
