The Basel Action Network completed its transition to a stand-alone 501(c)3 non-profit organization in March of 2009, after previously operating under the guidance of parent organization Earth Economics. As part of its new status, the Seattle-based environmental watchdog has made publicly-available a report of its 2009 operations – including information on its funding and operations.
Under "Support and Revenue," BAN reported individual donations of $12,000 and corporate donations of over $318,000. The organization goes on to list over 90 charitable donors including several household names in e-scrap, such as Asset Recovery Corp., Cascade Asset Management, CEAR, ECS Refining, Electronic Recyclers International, E-Recycling of California, Waste Management Recycle America, WeRecycle!, and several dozen other organizations and individual donors.
More broadly, BAN listed its total support and revenue (which includes the aforementioned donations, as well as grants, licensing fees, and other income) as $1,004,905 for 2009. Interested parties can take a look at BAN's 2009 Annual Report, including balance sheets, by clicking here [1].
